University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) 2026
The University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) is a prestigious opportunity for outstanding students from non-EU/EEA countries who are applying for a Master's programme (MSc) at the University of Twente in the Netherlands.
Key Benefits
- Financial support between €3,000 and €22,000 for one academic year.
- For two-year programmes, the same amount may be renewed for the second year, subject to academic performance.
- Access to exclusive honours programmes: Research Honours, Design Honours, or Change Leaders.
Please note: This scholarship is meant to support study-related expenses. The amount is transferred directly to the student, and it is up to the student how to allocate the funds. Tuition fees are not paid on your behalf.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, you must meet all the following conditions:
- You have (provisionally) been admitted to a UT Master's programme for 2026/2027 (September intake).
- You hold a valid UT student number.
- You are not a graduate of a UT undergraduate programme.
- You meet the Dutch visa requirements (if applicable).
- You meet the English proficiency requirement:
- IELTS 6.5 overall and 6.0 in speaking
- OR TOEFL iBT 90 overall and 20 in speaking
- You are not eligible for Dutch study financing.
- You belong to the top 5-10% of your class.
- You are a non-EU/EEA student and do not qualify for the statutory tuition fee.
Not Eligible:
- Dutch and/or current UT students
- EU/EEA students
- Students in ITC (Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation)
- Pre-Master students
- Students paying the statutory tuition fee (even if they are from non-EU/EEA countries but hold a Dutch residence permit)
Academic Requirements for 2-Year Programmes
To renew the scholarship for the second year:
- Maintain a minimum average grade of 7/10 by the end of the third quartile of the first year.
- Earn at least 50% of your European Credits by that time.
Additional Scholarship Opportunity
Students starting in September 2026 may also be considered for the Kipaji Scholarship, designed for candidates from specific developing countries. UTS applicants interested in this additional funding must indicate their interest during the UTS application process.

Eligible Countries
Students from non-EU/EEA countries across Africa, Asia, the Americas, and other regions are eligible. Countries include (but are not limited to): Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brazil, and Morocco.

Round 1:

Round 2:
- Opens: 1 February 2026 (16:00 CET)
- Closes: 1 May 2026 (16:00 CET)
If you apply and are not selected in Round 1, you cannot reapply in Round 2.
