School Doctoral Scholarships
These PhD studentships will pay a stipend at the equivalent rate to that offered by the Research Councils (value is still to be agreed but for guidance, in 2014/15 this was £13,863). Tuition fees at the EU rate will also be paid. Payment will be made in equal monthly installments for a maximum of three years, subject to satisfactory performance. Awards will be paid pro-rata for part-time candidates. As one of the intentions of these awards is to enhance the skills portfolio of successful candidates, awardees will normally be required undertake specified teaching and related duties as an integral part of their scholarship package. For EU applicants intending to apply to the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) for funding, we strongly advise you to also apply for the School of History, Classics and Archaeology Doctoral Scholarships, as well as any others you may be eligible for, as AHRC will consider you for EU rate tuition fees awards only.
