University of Sydney is inviting applications for postgraduate scholarship in contaminant hydrology. Applicants should have a background in theoretical and applied hydrology, eco-hydrology, and soil physics and be willing to learn mathematical concepts needed to implement advanced computational tools. The scholarship is valued at $25,849 per annum (tax exempt and indexed annually) and may be renewed for up to three years, with a possible further extension of 6 months, subject to satisfactory progress. The scholarship is paid as a stipend on a fortnightly basis. This scholarship does not cover any tuition fees payable by international candidates although exceptional international applicants will be considered for a Fee Award. The application deadline is 26 September 2015.
Study Subject(s): Scholarship is provided in Contaminant Hydrology at the University of Sydney in Australia.
Course Level: Scholarship is available for pursuing postgraduate degree level at University of Sydney in Australia.
Scholarship Provider: University of Sydney, Australia
Scholarship can be taken at: Australia
Eligibility: Applicants should have a background in theoretical and applied hydrology, eco-hydrology, and soil physics and be willing to learn mathematical concepts needed to implement advanced computational tools. Applicants must also be interested in multidisciplinary approaches to environmental engineering, which may include chemistry, biology, and computational sciences. Consideration will be given in order of priority to applicants who:

(2) can demonstrate a potential for research excellence; and
(3) have relevant past experience and training. Applications are open to domestic and international students.
Scholarship Open for International Students: Australian and international students can apply for the scholarship.
Scholarship Description: A full time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably qualified candidate to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in Environmental Engineering within the School of Civil Engineering. The project is broadly covering contaminant hydrology, but emphasises hydrological and biogeochemical reactive flows within the area of environmental modeling. The aim of the project is to develop computational capabilities to track contaminants (e.g., from various sources including agrochemicals) and to assess bioremediation and phytoremediation potentials in soils.
Number of award(s): A full time postgraduate scholarship is available.
Duration of award(s): Scholarship is offered for up to three years,
