Trinity College, Cambridge is offering postgraduate bursaries for citizens of African countries. Two bursaries are awarded for up to one year and are not renewable. Bursaries cover university and College fees, maintenance allowance, traveling allowance. Applicants for these Bursaries should have taken a first degrees, or equivalent, in their country of origin, and have not yet had a substantial period of study (more than 12 months) outside their own country. Scholarship Description: They are intended primarily for students who wish to take a taught post-graduate course in the University of Cambridge, leading to the MASt, the MPhil or the LLM degree. Bursars who wish to stay on to do research for the PhD degree may compete, towards the end of their year here, for one of Trinity College’s Internal Graduate Studentships. Bursars must become members of Trinity College and be accepted by the Board of Graduate Studies for a course in the University.

What does it cover? A Bursar who has no support from any other source may expect: to have all approved University and College fees paid on her/his behalf to receive an adequate maintenance allowance (the rate for students undertaking a MASt, MPhil or LLM course is set at the minimum maintenance rate required by the Board of Graduate Studies, plus a settling in allowance of £350 (2013/14 rate) for overseas students); and to receive an allowance covering the cost of travel from the country of origin to the United Kingdom at commencement of the course and return at the end.
