Japanese Government Scholarships 2015/2016

The Minister of Higher Education hereby announces to the general public and prospective applicants that the Japanese government is offering scholarships for the 2015/2016 academic year.

The scholarship is divided into three categories of students:

  • College of technology students, undergraduate students and Research students.
  • Studies will be do ne in the Japanese language for the first two categories
  • English Language for the Research student's category.

College of technology students

Awards are open in the following domains; Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Information, Communication and Network Engineering, Materials Engineering, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Maritime Engineering and other fields.

Undergraduate students

Awards are open in the domain of Social Sciences and Humanities and Natural Sciences. Candidates must choose a first, second and third choices. See (www.cmr.emb-japan.go.jp) for details on the fields of study.

Research students

Applicants should apply for the fields they majored in at the university or its related field. See (www.cmr.emb-japan.go.jp) for details on the fields of study.

Eligibility

  • Candidates should be of Cameroonian nationality (both sexes);
  • Candidates should be in good health both physically and mentally;
  • Candidates applying for the College of technology student's category and the undergraduate student's category (first cycle) should be 21 years at most by April 2nd 2015 and 34 years at most for Research students as of April 2nd 2015.
  • Candidates applying for the College of technology student's category and the undergraduate student's category should be holders of GCE AIL;
  • Research students should be holders of a Master's degree with good marks.

The application file should comprise the following:

College of technology students and Undergraduate students

  • An application form to be downloaded ,.and printed on the following link (www.cmr.emb-japan.go.jp); in two copies ( 2 originals);
  • A placement preference form (a prescribed form) 1 original;
  • Academic transcriptsfor the past three years ( 1 original copy);
  • A graduation certificate of the last school attended (or certificate of expected graduation for an applicant due graduation (1 original copy);
  • A recommendation letter from principal or discipline master of the last school attended (original 1 copy);
  • A medical certificate ( prescribed form) ( original 1 copy);
  • A certificate of enrolment for those currently enrolled in a university (original 1 copy);
  • 04 most recent 4.5 x 3.5 passport size photograph with your full address written behind;
  • Certificate of passage of university entrance qualification examination (original 1 copy).

Graduate students

  • An application form to bedownloaded and printed on the following link (www.cmr.emb-japan.go.jp) in three copies (3 originals);
  • A placement preference form (a prescribed form) 1 original;
  • Fields of study and research Proqrarn Plan (a prescribed form) 1 original 2 copies);
  • Certified grade transcript for each academic year from the last university attended (issued by that university) (1 original 2 copies);
  • The graduation certificate or degree certificate of the last university attended (or an attested document certifying that the applicant will graduate from the school, where applicable) (1 original 2 copies);
  • A recommendation from the president/ dean or the adviser of the last university attended (1 original, 2 copies);
  • A medical certificate (prescribed form) (1 original 2 copies);
  • Abstracts of theses (1 original 2 copies);
  • Photographs showing applicants own works of arts or a recorded CD of musical performance (only for those majoring in fine arts or music) (1 original, 2 copies);

Note: Ali these documents must be written in English or Japanese, or translations in either of these languages should be attached;

  • 4 photographs 4.5 x 3.5 cm, taken within the past six months, upper body, full-faced, uncapped.
  • Applicants must submit their files at the Japanese diplomatie missions latest 15 June 2015 at 4:00pm.
