International Institute for Asian Studies is offering postdoctoral fellowships for researchers from around the world who would like to apply for a position as ‘affiliated fellow’ at IIAS. Fellowships are particularly for researchers focusing on the three clusters ‘Asian cities’, ‘Asian heritages’ and ‘Global Asia’. Applicants should have a PhD degree in related field. The fellowship will be tenable for a maximum period of 10 months. The application deadline is 1 October 2014 for commencement between January and April 2015.

However some positions will be reserved for outstanding projects in any area outside of those listed. Applications which link to more than one field are also welcome. What does it cover? If IIAS decides to sponsor your research by awarding a grant, you will receive:
- a monthly grant of € 1100;
- housing;
- a one-time grant of € 1000 (max) towards the costs of (international) travel.
Support for research (office facilities, library access, networks, etc.) will be provided. Affiliated fellows are expected to participate in IIAS events, including the fellow seminars, monthly lunch lectures, and drinks.
Selection Criteria: The Fellowship will be assessed by the IIAS Academic Committee on the basis of merit, quality and available resources.
