FIAS Fellowship - Applications Open for 2026-2027
The French Institutes for Advanced Study (FIAS) Fellowship Programme is now accepting applications for the 2026-2027 academic year. A total of 28 fellowship positions are available across seven institutes in France.

About the Programme
The FIAS Fellowship Programme offers 10-month research stays in France for high-level international researchers. It is open to all disciplines in the Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH), as well as to interdisciplinary fields connected to SSH.

Eligibility Criteria
- Open to researchers of all nationalities and career stages (minimum PhD + 2 years postdoc)
- Applicants must not have resided or worked in France more than 12 months during the 3 years preceding the application deadline

- Based solely on scientific merit
- Evaluated through a rigorous international peer-review process
- Highly competitive
Application Timeline
- May 29, 2025: Online application portal opens
- July 16, 2025 (6:00 pm Paris time): Application deadline
- July 2025: Eligibility screening
- August-November 2025: Peer-review evaluation
- December 2025: Pre-selection results announced
- January-March 2026: Final selection by Scientific Boards
- March 2026: Final results published

Note: The proposal must clearly explain objectives, methodology, relevance to the field, expected outcomes, and impact on your career. You may also name up to 3 reviewers to exclude.
