The Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is inviting applications for International Development Fellows Program (IDFP) for the 2014/15 academic year. Each year, CRS places approximately 20-25 fellows for 8-12 months to increase overseas experience and exposure to CRS programs. Specific job responsibilities vary greatly from one country to another depending on the country program’s focus. To be eligible for these fellowships, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the USA and have at least 12 months overseas work or volunteer experience in a developing country. The application deadline is December 1, 2013.
Study Subject (s): The program will focus on Agriculture, Health, Peacebuilding, Education, Microfinance, or a combination of these.
Course Level: This 8-12 months fellowship program is awarded to increase overseas experience and exposure to CRS programs.

Eligibility:
- Graduate degree in a field relevant to international development.
- Professional proficiency in French, Spanish, Arabic, or Portuguese. French preferred.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- At least 12 months overseas work or volunteer experience in a developing country.
- Strong cross-cultural skills with the ability to adapt to the local culture.
- Ability to operate effectively in a stressful, fast changing environment where security could change unexpectedly.
- Fluency in English with strong oral and written communication skills and strong analytical skills.
- Interest in a career in development or emergency relief with Catholic Relief Services
- Commitment to CRS Principles
- Desire to work for a faith-based organization.

Each year, CRS places approximately 20-25 Fellows with our country programs overseas. Assignments are for 8-12 months, starting in early September. Specific job responsibilities vary greatly from one country to another depending on the country program’s focus (Agriculture, Health, Peacebuilding, Education, Microfinance, or a combination of these). The goal of the IDFP is to place Fellows in positions where they can draw on their previous education and work experience, while broadening their skills. Most of our fellowships lead to regular positions with Catholic Relief Services.
Number of award (s): Each year, CRS places approximately 20-25 Fellows with our country programs overseas.
Duration of award(s): Assignments are for 8-12 months, starting in early September.

Selection Criteria: Catholic Relief Services considers all applicants on the basis of merit without regard to race, national origin, religious beliefs, gender, age, marital status or physical or mental disability.
Notification: Approximately 125 candidates will be selected from October through mid January for phone interviews. Of these, 50-60 will be chosen for a full day of interviews in Late February/early March. Interview Invitations will be extended by early February. CRS will make offers for the Fellowship in late April.
